Just discovered this recording i had from 2016, and thought i'd upload it to complement my other diner recording on here (https://freesound. Org/people/edlundart/sounds/501025/). This is 4 and a half minutes of background noise from a new york city diner, including people talking, clanging plates and glasses and forks and knives and cups being cleared away by staff. Crucially, no music is playing. This means you can either use this clean, or layer in your own rights-cleared music if you're using this in a film or whatever. Recorded in 2016 with an iphone — don't let the recording device scare you, it sounds pretty good and certainly fine for this kind of background noise. Use it in any way you like for any purpose. Recording of parakeets being loud in springfield park in easy london at 7:30am in november. This was an unintentional recording as i was testing out some new gear, this meant that i wasn't able to unclip the mics from my rucksack straps and avoid picking up the rustle of my clothes and some breathing. A train and canal boat engines can be heard in the background. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. I recorded this sound with the microphone from the logitech quickcam for notebooks pro. I know, the webcam is really old but i happened to find it from my brothers room and used it for a microphone replacement. You may say it distorts a lot, but that's just because the original setting of level is 50+ db. Now onto the topic. I spinned the usb cord around the end, and tried to do it fast enough to create this sound. This is a modified sound from its original. Spectral editing in audacity has been done.

Ok, i don't know how many of you might be interested in this, but i figure there's no harm in posting it. I'm working on some original songs. Laptop-based, electronic songs, with many orchestral parts, including violin, viola, cello, and string bass. Presonus studio one has some very nice vst string instruments, and i have some really great ones for kontakt. But they all are missing one thing, and i couldn't find the (admittedly esoteric) sound that i'm looking for anywhere on the internet. Being a viola player myself, i recorded myself playing these very particular incidental sounds. Let me explain-. There's this 'grabby' sound that a well-rosined bow makes just is it is first being drawn across the string. Listen carefully to any of the pros and you'll hear it. In your laptop sequences, if used subtly, right at the point where the first note of a phrase is initiated, this sound can give the string part a marked sense of realism*. This, combined with vibrato, reverb and a nice warm/tube/tape saturation setting, nobody will be able to tell the difference between your vst and the real thing. About the audio-i tried to keep them as pitchless as possible, thus not limiting their utility. I recorded two sets of all four open strings (c, g, d, a), first close mic'ed, and once from a few feet away, in stereo. Or to say it another way, the sounds are as follows-1. Open c close2. Open g close3. Open d close4. Open a close5. Open c far6. Open g far7. Open d far8. Open a far. It's totally overkill for me to record all the different versions, but i suppose somebody out there might find one more appropriate than another for their purposes. Quite simply a recording of me screaming in a humorous way (if you're looking for a scream sound effect for a project with a serious tone, i doubt this one will be suitable). Even though i'm a woman, i have a feeling this sound could be used for a male character too, probably one with a voice that's not too deep. I recorded this by mistake when i was just 14! me and my sister had just been recording something on my mp3 player, then when we'd finished, i accidentally pressed record again. I don't know why, but i responded by doing a silly scream before pressing the button to stop recording! weird reaction, i know. I was probably just trying to make her laugh. I kept the very short recording ever since and in more recent years, i showed it to a friend who found it absolutely hilarious! i realised this was a such a gem of a scream that i simply had to upload it as my first ever contribution to this wonderful site i've been using for years!. I've edited out one second of silence that preceded the scream in the original version of the file. This sound was made by me, i tied down my canon powershot a460 digital camera inside the engine bay of my 1993 rover 620si, and it's got a petrol honda engine, no turbo on this version. I had my video recording on my camera in the engine bay while i was driving. I started the engine up and took it for a drive. I simply took the sound off the video. Why does everything i upload sound like people screaming and/or chainsaws!?. Sound source is a contact mic producing feedback into various fx. The main fx used for the clip are a sirkut electronics gnarler, boss metal zone, dod grunge, and finally, a danelectro french fries auto wah. Recorded direct-to-sound card as usual. This is a sample taken from a longer piece.
